Micro Feminine Habits for busy women

May 24, 2024

A lot of my clients have this false impression that going from being stuck in your unhealthy masculine energy to embracing your feminine essence takes a lot of effort.

The truth is, small habits can have a big impact on how you feel and show up as a woman. They can mark the beginning of a new you as long as applied with consistency.

Here are 5 micro feminine habits that have changed my life and are easy to incorporate into your daily routine!

1. Dhikr: A Constant Connection with Allah

Dhikr, or the remembrance of Allah, is a powerful way to keep our hearts connected to our Creator. It’s a simple yet profound practice that can be done anywhere, anytime. Don't restrict this practice to after your prayer, talk to Allah whenever your heart needs company. Being in your feminine starts with recognising that you are taken care of and you are safe and those needs are fulfilled by Allah first and foremost.

2. Meditation: Finding Stillness in a Busy World

Meditation is a beautiful practice that aligns perfectly with our faith. Taking a few minutes each day to sit in quiet reflection can help you center yourself and find calm amidst the chaos. Start with just 5-10 minutes, focusing on your breath or a favorite verse from the Quran.

You can even combine meditation with dhikr, closing your eyes and reciting a verse or name of Allah while you breathe deeply. This practice can help you clear your mind, reduce stress, and feel more connected to Allah and yourself.

3. Self-Compassion: Being Gentle with Yourself

As Muslim women, we often hold ourselves to high standards, striving to be perfect in every role we play. But self-compassion is about treating yourself with the same kindness and understanding that you’d offer a dear friend. When you make a mistake or face a challenge, remind yourself that it’s okay to be imperfect.

Practice positive self-talk, forgive yourself for your shortcomings, and give yourself permission to rest when needed. This gentle approach can help you build resilience, improve your mental health, and cultivate a loving relationship with yourself.

4. Self-Expression: Embracing Your Unique Voice

Expressing yourself authentically is a key part of self-love and personal growth. Whether it’s through writing, art, fashion, or even your daily conversations, find ways to let your true self shine. Embrace your passions and hobbies, and don’t be afraid to share your thoughts and feelings with others.

Creating a personal journal or blog can be a wonderful outlet for self-expression. Write about your experiences, dreams, and reflections on your faith. This not only helps you process your thoughts but also inspires others who read your words.

5. Use the China!

We all have beautiful things that we reserve for special occasions, jewelry, dresses, beauty products... Part of being in your feminine looks like treating yourself on a daily basis and allowing yourself to use the special perfume or cutlery set, even when there's no reason to! You being alive right now is enough of a reason to indulge in the little pleasure that Allah has granted you.

Stop waiting for an excuse to do what sparks joy within, do it now and do it regularly.

Romanticise your life, be the main character because you're the only person that truly can impact your mood and energy.

Remember, sisters, these small habits are like seeds that grow into beautiful gardens over time. By incorporating them into your daily life, you’ll nurture your soul and create a more peaceful, fulfilling existence.

With love and dua,

Soumaya
